DADS -
The operational DADS system has not been working properly for OTFC.
There have been a sequence of problems. DADS 7.9 was installed to fix a problem with compressing files a second time upon restart. Another problem was found related to the DADS DRP. A quick fix was installed. There were network problems also. These may have been related to network changes going on.
If OTFC is down while DADS is up, the system does not return data. Warren filed an OPR (39003) to improve the DADS email response information about this situation.

OPUS (Mike Swam) - The calibration pipeline was successfully ported to daffy. The reference file cache is now fully populated for WFPC2 and STIS.
Mike is developing the common switch rules system for OTFC. It is expected to be done by the end of May. Testing is going on. A few problems were found. The system shares code and the rules file with the initial pipeline. This tool will write directly to headers in the future.
File renaming is not behaving as an atomic operation on Digital Unix. This property is needed to run properly the OPUS pipeline when two processes attempt to run on the same dataset. When two processes interfere, the dataset does complete calibration OK, but the pipeline (the losing process) is left in a bad state.
This was fixed.

getref/upref (Bernie Simon) - started looking at the work to support comment placement. Estimate 3 weeks of work is required.
Developed an option for users to select a subset of keywords for changes
Action Item: Ed Hopkins will investigate whether this behavior can be made consistent with DADS, so OTFC processed data can be ingested.
ACTION ITEM: Bernie and Ed will investigate keyword placement for switches.

Change System (Lisa Gardner, Steve Lubow, & Bernie Shiao) -
Scripts are handling the updating of the internal test system on ZEPPO to emulate the automated change system.
The automatic change system needs further development.
Action Item: Lisa is to develop support for the pending datasets table.
-----------------------------------------------------
STIS (Bernie Shiao, Ed Hopkins, Grace Mitchell, Melissa McGrath)
Action Item: Bernie Shiao will investigate the level of effort required to retrieve the 2700 or so WAVECAL datasets. Lisa will determine the effort required to make the database changes and the ingest process changes for WAVCALs. Since there is no short-term need to change these values, this effort is of low priority.

Testing (Grace Mitchell, Melissa McGrath, Steve Lubow, Steve Slowinski)
No testing possible with system down.
--------------------------------------------------------------
ACS (Megan Donahue) - expect about 70 retrievals per day, once the system is stable. WFPC2 has a ratio of retrievals to ingest of 3:1 or 4:1 (15 GB/day). The ratio has flattened out, after having grown exponentially. DVDs may be used to distribute data to users. DVDs can hold 2 GB/side and 5 GB on a 2 sided DVD vrs 600 MB for CD.
