Minutes of OTFC Mtg 11/4/99
Hardware installation (Lynn and Valerie) - The installation
is proceeding on schedule for Nov 19.
Reprocessing System (Mike Swam) -
Mike reviewed the main issues for reprocessing:
Need an archive interface to the calibration
pipeline. In the short term, this will need to deal with the existing
DADS and not the replacement system (NSA).
DADS will need to handle separate requests
for POD files and datasets
DADS should determine the relationship between datasets
and POD files. Separate database queries will need to
be made for associated vrs unassociated data.
There are missing entries in the database table
of POD file names. Some POD files will need to be retrieved
to provide the info.
A proper response file to users should not list
the POD files nor should users be sent POD files.
The pipeline needs separate subtrees for different
requests.
Generic conversion will need to be modified to handle
exceptions. An exceptions table like the current one could
be used, along with getref/upref. It may be possible
to simplify the current exceptions table.
The estimated level of effort for the OPUS group is
2-3 months.
Similar estimates are needed from the Archive Team.
Starview - Tim Kimball is developing a web interface
using the test pipe. We hope to use it soon to check
that capability.
OPUS procedures - We will be having a splinter
group meet with Sid to discuss the details
of handling initial pipeline calibration problems
in the OTFC era.
